There’s a lot to be afraid of in the world at the moment. One day Paris is attacked, the next day Russia shoots 26 missiles into Syria. The next day NSW changes its 20-year-old terrorist policy, to a ‘Shoot First’ policy, and asks the FBI for special training.
Never in my life have I felt a greater need to pray for the world, than I do right now. Things are changing quite radically at the moment, so much so that we can be quite sure that all of this will end up being a history exam question one day.
Please Friends, pray. Keep praying for everything that’s happening at the moment, and keep praying for the Kingdom come!
Why Should I trust the Creator?
Psalm 146, that’s why!
Through faith in Jesus Christ I now have a shield, to face the flaming arrows of life. It is God my Saviour. Hard times will come, and so will persecution, but I have hope and strength in him.
As the Psalmist wrote;
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
Life is not always easy, sometimes we will get tired, hungry, and hurt. But God is watching over you and me, he has given us the victory. We can be eternally secure with Jesus! The first step, to this everlasting security, is prayer!
Have you asked God to be your shield today?
What is Youthworks College?
Youthworks college is a specialised theological college which is part of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. Their aim is to be Christ-focussed, Bible-based, missionally-engaged, like most evangelical college’s strive to be. However, they also combine that with culturally-relevant and developmentally-appropriate teaching, that suits the chosen target audience of the student, whether that be youth, children or both.
Many people want God in their life so that they can become happy by something that God gives. Those people often feel unsatisfied because their relationship with God isn’t ‘providing’ what they want. God is not there to be your personal prayer vending machine, especially if you never spend time with him! But if you seek God as your satisfaction, if you seek him with your whole being, you will find satisfaction – in Him!
Today the Commonwealth Nations remember those who fell in the First World War. Soldiers that gave their lives, fighting a war for earthly freedom and for justice. They paid the highest price in a time when there was so much to lose. They are worthy of honour, for “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” John 15:13
